But for $81k I couldn't even begin to justify selling the other 3 cars and still having to pay more money for it. One day you'll be mine 400i, one day.

Well, the Maserati Quattroporte is practically a four-door Ferrari. You have a better chance of owning one of those.
EDIT: I forgot: this is not a 4-door.

For the time being I'll keep my crosshairs on the 400i, when time comes and my hopes and dreams start to fade away, I'll start searching for replacements.

That seems pricy for a 400i. Usually they go for less.

Even a 456 seems to go for less than that..

I'm in south america, that is the cheapest Ferrari I've ever found here.

I was going to say the same, $81k for a 400i is a LOT.
I look at the prices from time to time and the cleanest, manual "412 GT" will go for about $50k. Plus according to some "pricing" sites and such the 400i/GT and 412i/GT just took a price hike yes, but from an all-time low, and yet it's still a full $40k or more under the price OP posted.
Edit: South America... I feel My Citroën won't start, I live in Uruguay where Ferraris go for MAD prices. Think a price, multiply it by 3...

How bad would the import duties be? It could be a fine drive from California to Brazil.

100% import tax on new cars, I guess the same for classics.

I am in agreement with you. I love the 400/412. You can find them much, much cheaper in the US. Probably around $20k. The problem is the engine is basically the same as the Daytona which means repairs are much more expensive.

And I think finding parts for it in south america or sourcing them from the US or EU is going to be even more expensive.
